Body Surgery
Abdominoplasty and/or liposuction may be right for you if you are unhappy with the appearance of your stomach area. A tummy tuck is performed to remove excess fat, which may be caused by pregnancy, substantial weight loss, or aging. Liposuction targets excess pockets of skin, and is ideal for those whose fat is concentrated on particular areas of the body.
Ideal patients for these two procedures:
- Are at or near their ideal weight, or less than 30 pounds overweight
- Want to target the appearance of specific areas of the body (for tummy tucks, the abdomen; for liposuction, any specific
areas of the body where fat is concentrated)
- Have skin that retains at least some elasticity, allowing it to respond well to changes in body contours
- Are not planning future pregnancies or substantial weight loss
