Breast Lift (known as mastopexy) is used to uplift and reshape breasts. Over the years factors such as pregnancy, weight gain and loss, and gravity take their toll on breasts causing the skin to stretch, and the breast to sag. The nipple can descend below the crease beneath the breast. A breast lift excises the stretched skin, reduces the size of the areola (the brown skin around the nipple), and raises the nipple position to give a fuller & "perkier" appearance to the breast. The best results are obtained in smaller breasts since weight may cause some recurrent sagging. Mastopexy does leave scars but these are usually covered by bras or bathing suits.
