Jet Peel™ is a new cosmetic system formulated to treat skin conditions such as age spots, sun damage, clogged pores, and wrinkles. The Jet Peel™ device uses a handpiece to direct liquid microdroplets and compressed gas at the skin. These fast-moving droplets remove the outer layers of skin, exposing healthier and smoother skin underneath. Jet Peel™ is often considered an all-natural alternative to chemical peels or dermabrasion.
Is Jet Peel™ Right for Me?
Many patients choose a Jet Peel™ because they are tired of skin blemishes. Often, a Jet Peel™ is used to minimize the first signs of aging, such as fine lines and sun damage. In addition to removing dead skin cells, a Jet Peel™ hydrates and improves the circulation of the skin. While the face is the most commonly treated area, Jet Peel™ sessions can also improve the appearance of the feet, hands, elbows, chest, back, and other areas of the body.
The Jet Peel™ procedure helps to do the following:
- Remove built-up dead skin cells that may cause a dull complexion
- Unclog pores
- Reduce the appearance of sun damage and age spots
- Smooth wrinkles and fine lines
- Improve some types of acne and rosacea
- Create a more even skin tone
A Jet Peel™ is painless and can be done in the doctor’s office in under an hour. This treatment method requires no anesthesia. During Jet Peel™ treatments, a special handheld device is held to the skin. It directs liquid droplets and compressed gases toward the targeted skin. Many patients find that the mixture of liquid and gases feels cold against their skin.
Like a chemical peel or dermabrasion, the goal of a Jet Peel™ procedure is to remove the outermost layer of skin. This skin rejuvenation system uses pressurized oxygen and a saline solution to exfoliate the skin. Often, the saline solution is combined with vitamins or supplements that can have additional benefits for the skin. These substances are easily absorbed into the body as the high velocity jet removes the outermost layer of skin.
Jet Peel™ Recovery
There is no downtime after Jet Peel™ treatments. You can resume your normal daily activities immediately, although the skin may be red or swollen for about an hour. Avoid exposing the treated skin to the sun for several weeks.
