What can I expect after a laser hair removal treatment?
The Laser hair Removal process starts with a consultation to determine the area or areas that you would like to be treated. Depending on your individual skin tone and the texture of the hair to be removed, a treatment plan will be developed for you. Most packages are a series of 4-6 treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart. You can continue to shave in-between sessions, but waxing should be avoided to allow the laser energy to make contact with the hair follicles. After each treatment, you will see less hair growth, a slower return of the remaining hair follicles, and usually the remaining hair is softer. By the end of your series, you will have smooth, sex skin virtually free of unwanted hair.
How is laser hair removal performed?
Before beginning the Laser Hair Removal treatment, the area is shaved (not waxed) so that the laser makes a smooth contact on the skin and the follicle is still present below the surface of the skin. Treatment sessions may last 15-45 minutes. You will feel a tingling or heat sensation for each brief pulse- like a tiny rubber band snap on the skin. The advanced technology cools the surface of the skin so that you remain comfortable. A pink or reddish painless discoloration of treated areas is to be expected, usually lasting a few minutes to a few hours. You will need to avoid long sun exposure and self-tanners before and after treatments. Specific instructions will be provided at the time of your consultation. |
